Caithness Beach Cleans
We started picking up plastic on 3rd March 2019, so far we have picked up 25 UK (Long) Tons
Re-cycled, re-claimed, beach ropes, buoys, fish boxes, etc.
We do our best to recycle as much as we can. However, a lot of what we find is so contaminated it is only fit for landfill.
Beach ropes which are not too thick are useful for doormats.
Soft cotton based beach rope is idea for dog toys and leads.
Fishing boxes can be returned to the depot and you are given a small donation.
Buoys can be sold to fishermen.
Have you any ideas for what could be made with beach waste?
The group only records the weight of plastics but in fact picks up much more if you consider the weight of creels and other metal found!
