Roy Geo had not been visited for some time and was in need of a good clean.
A small series of rocky/sandy beaches between the groynes and then a long rocky beach along from the Castle. The beach here is famous for its surfing.

About
My husband and I often walk on beaches and always pick up plastic on the way back. At the start of this year (2019) we realised that there seemed to be more plastic than normal and I decided to weigh what we picked up.
On 3rd of March 2019 we started weighing what we found and started a FaceBook group, inviting other like minded people to join us.
To date we have picked up over 25 UK (long) tons of plastic! The FaceBook group has now grown to over 800 members, 30 of whom are active at the moment, with more starting all the time.

or
by sending me an email (the address is under the title at the top of the page) with a photograph of your weighed haul. This will then be added to the total.
If you live locally, pick up plastic from the beach and don't have scales, we can provide them!

There are now over 40 beaches that we clean. They are all different and have their own challenges and idiosyncrasies.

We are running a small competition for local children during the Easter Holidays!
There are a number of items to be found on local beaches.
All taking part will receive a badge and there are prizes for children who manage to find all items on the list!
Beach Safety
Everyone wants to enjoy the beach. We do it by walking and then have the added feel good factor of getting rid of the plastic!
It is important however, to be aware of the risks that are involved in beach cleaning.
