Beach Waste

Sadly, most of what we pick up is so contaminated it is not suitable for recycling.

If you are a regular beach cleaner, we have arrangements to have beach waste picked up with your household rubbish.

If you pick up large amounts we can provide special sacks that the council will pick up.

If you pick up small amounts they should go either in your own bin or one of the public bins.

However:

If you pick up something that can be re-used, such as a towel, buoy, toy, etc., then hold on to it and we can have a "From the Sea" stall at a future fayre and raise some funds.

Re-using items is a great thing to do.

  • Fishing rope can be used for doormats, dog toys, plant pots, all sorts of things.

  • Fish boxes will resell, as will buoys, creel hooks, mussel spikes, etc.

  • Towels can be resold as Dog Towels (we find all sorts of clothing; Jackets, Gloves, etc)

  • Dog toys can be resold.
