Caithness Beach Cleans
We started picking up plastic on 3rd March 2019, so far we have picked up 25 UK (Long) Tons
Our Team.
We started the group on the 3rd of March 2019, since then the team has moved from a half ton a month to nearly one ton a month!
Some people pick up large amounts (ropes, nets, etc.,) some pick up what they see as they are out walking their dogs.
It really doesn't matter how much you pick up, as long as you do, then weigh it, take a photo and add it to the total for the group. It is amazing watching the total grow!
Dorcas
Can often be found on a beach, wearing a yellow Hi-Viz jacket. Come and talk to me.
Allan
Often found on beaches cutting up nets or ropes so that they are in manageable sizes for taking away.
Maranda
Maranda runs Caithness Coastal Comber on FaceBook and is a huge contributor to the group weight.
Alison
Alison also walks her dogs on beaches and always picks up any plastic that she finds.
Nicola
Nicola takes her dog (name) out for a walk daily and is often found on a beach.
She has been picking up plastic for a long time and joined the group so we could update the total.
Caroline
Caroline is very energetic and takes her dog out on the beach all the time, picking up plastic as she goes.
She had volunteered as an admin and it s a good advocate of the group.
Carine
Carine picks up whenever she comes up on holiday. She takes her children with her and they all pick up plastic when they return from their beach outing!
Vicky
Vicky also picks up whenever she comes up on holiday. She is keen on recycling and teaching children about recycling.
